• Monomorphic
• 1/8 inch long
• Uneven thorax
• 12 segments of antenna
• No circle of hairs on tip of abdomen
• Red black or dark brown
• Key is the pyramid-like projection on top of the thorax

Distribution

• Found in hot open areas of soil
• Under decorative rocks and logs
• Found near harvester ant nests
