During the holiday season you like to have visions of family and friends dancing in your head not visions of furry pests dancing in your cupboards. Cold weather has finally approached Middle Tennessesee and that means MICE are also finding a warm place to go and they just might start with your cupboards.
The cold temps cause mice to look for a warm structure to live in and for food to eat. Mice prefer seeds & grain to feed on but will also eat bacon, chocolate candy and butter. You want to make sure that your counters are clean of crumbs and water and that food containers are kept sealed. House mice are about 2" in diameter and are generally light brown to black. They can fit through a hole that is the size of a nickel, so it is important to make sure that any and all holes the size of a pencil eraser are sealed.
House mice mainly come out at night, but from time to time can be seen during the day. Once in an area, they immediately adapt to their surroundings and are familiar with different pathways in and out of rooms, kitchen pantries, etc.
Season's Greetings!
